Reclaiming a Community's Pedal Identity

Hey all, I don't know why I'm just now joining this, better late than never I suppose.
Anyway, I saw it mentioned somewhere on here that there should be a map where TC riders could mark their close calls, similar to the one in Portland. I'm no Google Maps expert but I decided to give it a go. Here are two maps that can be edited by the public.

One for Close Calls:

One for the Day of the Dead Alley Cat:

Any comments, criticisms, insights are more than welcome.

We are already planning the Alleycat for November 1... in fact most of the checkpoints have been selected already, but will not be posted ahead of time. Part of the fun of the ride is receiving the information at the time of the event. Would you like to team up in planning this event?

Also there is a collaboration between cycling, legal, and community groups working to develop useful standardized incident data gathering and mapping. I am wondering if this might be a project that you would care to join us with? It seems that you have an interest in it to be sure.

Let's chat....

I'll definitely consider it. I dunno if you recognize me by name M'Lynn, but Im the kid who got up and spoke at that meeting regarding banning plastic bags in TC. I don't think I'd want to participate in the alley cat planning this time around, since I've never ridden one, so I'd rather get the full experience.
